Functional Specification

The objective of the Functional Specification document is to clearly identify the site and web applications that the technical team will build and how each subsystem will work in the context of the overall strategy of the site. It is our objective in this phase to make it absolutely clear - working in partnership with the client and the creative and technical teams - what the full range of function and content will be on the site. The Functional Specification document consists of wireframes, flowcharts, site maps and detailed function tables for each major work area of a site. Use Case Scenarios are applied to work areas where applicable and appropriate depending on the nature of the project. Thus, you'll begin to "see" the application well before it is actually built. For the project to succeed, everyone must have a strong, mutually agreed upon conception of the product in its final form and the Functional Specification document serves as the blue-print that will guide the creative and technical components of the site.
